Grinnell College student band South of Tama — referring to Tama, Iowa — played their first show at Masquerade Harris, an event hosted by the Disability Cultural Association (DCA). Organizing members of the DCA worked with the musicians of South of Tama to put on an event with an accessible music listening space. This involved keeping in mind factors of both over- and under-stimulation from the audio and lights. Masked students danced to the group’s medium-energy indie tunes, provided by founder of the band Theo Richter `24 and Grant Anguiano, both on vocals and guitar, Renzo Iurino `27 on drums, Noah Mendola `26 on the upright bass and Maddie Church `27 on vocals, shakers and keys.
