The Scarlet & Black wins Iowa college newspaper of the year award

The+S%26B+won+the+Iowa+college+newspaper+of+the+year+award+and+19+individual+awards+at+the+Iowa+College+Media+Association+conference+in+Des+Moines%2C+Iowa+on+Feb.+8%2C+2024.
The S&B won the Iowa college newspaper of the year award and 19 individual awards at the Iowa College Media Association conference in Des Moines, Iowa on Feb. 8, 2024.

The Scarlet & Black took home the title of 2023 best print/online newspaper of the year at the annual Iowa College Media Association (ICMA) awards. In addition to the award won by the paper as a whole, individual staff members won an additional 19 awards.

Notably, staff writer Allison Moore `24 was one of four finalists for student journalist of the year. Additionally, staff members swept the sports reporting category, and won first, third and honorable mention in the front page design category. This is the most awards The S&B has won from the ICMA conferences in three years of nominations.
