The Pioneer women’s tennis team finished their season over fall break, winning the Midwest Conference with four individual title-winners. Milica Cvrkota ’21, Ali Hickey ’21, Abby Nielsen ’21 and Lily Hamilton ’19 won individual championships at the one, three, four and six slots in the lineup, respectively.
In doubles, Hickey and Nielson won conference in the second flight, while Hamilton and Anushka Joshi ’18 were runners-up in flight three. Another noteworthy statistic is that Amelia Cogan ’19, before falling in the number one doubles semi-finals with Cvrkota, notched her 66th doubles win, which ties for second in all-time program history.
Their conference championship caps off a season marked by tremendous success. Women’s and men’s tennis Head Coach Paige Madara received Coach of the Year honors, while Cvrkota earned Newcomer of the Year.
