The April 9 arrest of three adults in Grinnell for possession of marijuana inside their residence by the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force is a wrongful act. Now, three adults have a police record and were arrested and taken to jail.

Instead, conversation with advice and assistance for drug abuse counseling should be offered. Furthermore, is marijuana use worth spending the limited resources of law enforcement? How many Iowans have smoked marijuana? We even have a former president and current president who indulged in giggle smoke. Our federal, state and city revenues are falling short of government spending; certainly law enforcement should prioritize.

Go after the hog factories (CAFOs) that produce the toxic foul air that causes respiratory illness and death for those living next to those giant confinement buildings.
