Last weekend, two members of the Mexico City based music collective N.A.A.F.I. brought a night of eclectic dance music Gardner Lounge. The two performers, Lao and Paul Marmota, both played DJ sets that showcased their creativity and wide breadth of influences. Even a remix to Britney Spears’ “Toxic” made it into the mix during Lao’s turn onstage. Their sets were genre spanning, risky and, judging by the number of dancing students, very successful. While N.A.A.F.I. has gotten a lot of positive press over the past year and boasts over 9,000 followers on Soundcloud, Friday was their first performance on a college campus in the United States. Hopefully the performance was as memorable for them as it was for those in attendance.
