6:00 a.m. – My alarm blares.
6:05 a.m. – “Ok , Google… Set an alarm for 7 a.m.”
6:35 a.m. – Feel bad for not waking up early. Turn off scheduled alarm. Head out to shower.
6:45 a.m. – Start working on my hair as it knots up real quick.
7:00 a.m. – Read a few inspirational quotes, tech news, catch up on emails and messages, finish the last bit of reading for my first class (I always leavea bit for the next day).
7:30 a.m. – WHAT TO WEAR?!
7:50 a.m. – Comb the hair … again.
8:00 a.m. – Computer Organization & Architecture with Professor [Charlie] Curtsinger, [Computer Science]!
8:50 a.m. – Breakfast with the sketchiest kids (JK, they’re alright, I guess) on the floor – Uzo [Nwike ’17] and Samee [Zahid ’17].
9: 30 a.m. – Check on the best friend to see if she made it out of her bed to class. (Yay! She did. So proud of you, Natalie [Cooke ’17].)
10:00 a.m. – Statistical Modeling with Professor [Shonda] Kuiper, [Math & Statistics].
11:00 a.m. – Programming Language Implementation with Mr. [John] Stone, [Computer Science].
11:50 p.m. – A moment of silence for my brain.
12:00 p.m. – Back to my room to prepare for French.
12:15 p.m. – Catch up on the tons of emails I have to reply to. Send a few.
12:50 p.m. – Realize I completely forgot to do my prep for French.
1:00. p.m. – Well … Advanced Oral & Written Expression in French with Professor Phillipe Moisan.
1:50 p.m. – Feeling (INSERT feeling depending on my participation in class) as I walk back to my room.
2:30 p.m. – Talk about random things with Natalie as she stops by after class.
3:00 p.m. – Regret wasting time. Lay out all homework to be done. And start … replying to all WhatsApp messages.
5:00 p.m. – Stare at homework … contemplate the meaning of life.
5:15 p.m. – Now, let’s get busy. Phone off. Let’s work.
7:00 p.m. – If progress has been made, I’ll go eat dinner. Else, I’ll get a to-go box from the Dining Hall.
8:00 p.m. – Back to the books. Progress? Yes! A lot of progress.
8:30 p.m. – Done with homework. Start studying (and spending an ungodly amount of time on Quora reading (and sometimes answering) answers to computer science-related questions.
10:00 p.m. – TEA TIME! Go to the Grill with Natalie to get hot water and make tea.
12:00 a.m. – Sleep… Where are you? (Blame the tea for my being awake.)
12:30 a.m. – Convince myself that “sleep is for the weak.” (JK, I just struggle to sleep.)
1:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. in Ghana. Time to message my sisters and mom.
1:30 a.m. – Nope, I can’t (I should see a professional).
2:00 a.m. – If I’m not asleep by now, I’ll be thinking about how crappy my day will be since I’d be ridiculously tired.
