UnityPoint Health hosted its second annual Unity in the Community Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 4. The event, which had nearly 400 participants, offered a 5K run or a 3K run or walk.
Ryan Miller finished first in the 5K distance with a time of 18:02, and Jennifer Counts finished first in the 3K distance with a time of 17:31.
The course passed through downtown Grinnell on a loop between Central Park and Miller Park. After the race, participants enjoyed benefits such as entry into a raffle, hosted by event sponsors, and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
As the siren went off just after 9 a.m., the runners ran across the start line, beginning the race.
