As the Grinnell Mutual Family Aquatic Center prepared to close for the summer, they opened their gates to the four legged section of our population. Pets were allowed to swim in the pool last Wednesday, August 31 to signal the end of the summer and give the canines a chance to cool off. Humans were allowed to join their dogs in the pool up to their knees, but swimming was restricted to dogs. Some humans broke the rules and joined their pets in the pool. Admission for dogs was ten dollars, while humans got in for free. All humans had to come equipped with their own poop scooping gear and keep an adamant eye on their furry friends.
