I was tempted to set a specific day of the week and season for each of these to occur, but I want everyone to have their own image of these hours. Is 1 a.m. a hazy summer Saturday 1 a.m. to you? Or is it 1 a.m. on a Monday in the winter and you hate being awake and doing whatever you’re doing?
Aries (March 21 – April 19): 2 p.m.
This is a controversial time. Sometimes it’s so good—it can be naptime, if you let it. Other times, it’s violent and brutal and you’re at an all-day low. I feel like Aries 2 p.m. is definitely sunny, though.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): 8:30 a.m.
Maybe adding a half hour is breaking the premise of this horoscope, but I make the rules! Tauruses seem like morning people to me, so I mean this in a good way. To me, Taurus is the sign of a gentle wake up and a peaceful morning.
Gemini (May 21 – June 21): 9 p.m.
The night is very young! It’s just been born, actually. This is like the opposite of the Taurus one where you have hope for the day. With 9 p.m. you’re getting excited about whatever you’re doing that night.
Cancer (June 22 – July 22): 10 a.m.
Waking up at this time is always kind of romantic and emotional. If you woke up a couple hours earlier, though, this is probably a transitional time in your day. You’re getting to the end of the morning, and the feeling of life changes, if that makes sense.
Leo (July 23 – August 22): 11 p.m.
11 p.m. is a good time to go to sleep, it’s fun and late for a weekday but nice and early for a weekend. Or it’s a good time to arrive at your nighttime plans fashionably late. Whatever works for you.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22): 6 p.m.
Excellent time of day. 6 p.m. is special to me because in the summer or early fall, it’s when the sun is setting and the light comes through my kitchen windows in a really magical and golden way. Casts perfect shadows.
Libra (September 23 – October 23): 8 p.m.
CLASSIC time of day. This is a great time. I personally try to get all my work done before 8 p.m., so this is like the start of my night. I love to eat dinner at 8 p.m., or I love to eat before then and start a movie at 8 p.m. This is the freest time of day for me.
Scorpio (October 24 – November 21): 1 a.m.
1 a.m. isn’t so late that you feel like shit, but it’s late enough to be late, you know? Scorpios might want to be mysterious and intense at this time, but they’re probably laying in bed staring at the ceiling and pondering at this time most nights.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): 12 p.m.
Woohoo, lunch time! This is a great time, at least when you’re on a school schedule, because it’s a big, victorious, celebratory break. You totally conquered the morning and you’re charging into the afternoon with force.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): 10 p.m.
It’s easy to get emotional at 10 p.m. but not always in a bad way. I feel like 10 p.m. is a time to listen to The Sundays. That kind of emotional — it’s not quite time for “Nothing Compares 2 U” or “I Know” by Fiona Apple, but it could veer in that direction at a moment’s notice. So be careful.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): 3 a.m.
Aquarians are up doing weird shit at this time, and they should be allowed to. That’s all I have to say.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20): 5 a.m.
A beautiful, poetic time, if you can catch it. I feel like a Pisces could either be waking up or going to sleep at this time. They’ve probably done both a number of times. If you’re a Pisces and you’re reading this, regularize your sleep schedule! Scientists are saying it’s really important for sleep quality.
