Empires and Emperors Club, two bands with similar names but very different indie rock styles, will rock Gardner at 9 p.m. this Friday. Emperors Club is pictured above. Empires, formed in Chicago in 2007, consists of Tom Conrad, Sean Van Vleet and Max Steger. They have two EPs and two full-length albums, the second of which, Garage Hymns, was released on June 12, 2012. Empire’s debut album Howl was released on their website in 2008 and has since racked up around 70,000 downloads worldwide. “I am really looking forward to experiencing the rawness of their music live. It’s going to be epic,” said Yousuf Hafuda ’16. Emperors Club is composed of A.M. Havlin, Colin Ritchie, Amanda Crosby, Rachel Sauter and Benjamin Franklin. “I am a huge fan of Emperors Club and I have been following them since their origin. This is an exciting time,” said David Jutrsa ’15. Concerts Chair Pooj Padmaraj ’13 is excited for how the bands will complement each other. “This is a pretty sweet combination,” Padmaraj said. “And I am sure the students would appreciate the music.”
