As a former editor of the S&B, it is incredible to see the recent strides the staff has taken to extend the paper’s reach beyond the bounds of Grinnell’s campus. With hot-button topics such as elections, I remember significant dialogue over whether and how the paper would cover such stories and thus ‘provide a voice’ to viewpoints that may differ from large swaths of the College community. As the S&B continues to evolve, I think this coverage is a testament to the staff’s commitment and ability to provide objective, thoughtful coverage of current events to serve not just members of the campus community, but those of the city, county, state and beyond. As such an important source of journalism in the local area, keep up the great work!

Thank you for reporting on the Caucus in our county. The video was informative. It was fun to take part in the process. I liked visiting with neighbors and friends about issues we have in common.
