To our community:
We do not know the direction (and many fear the direction) that Betsy DeVos, Secretary of Education, will take regarding Title IX. What we do know is that the College will continue to provide support (both confidential and private resources) to students, faculty, and staff who have experienced some form of sexual misconduct including sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, and intimate partner abuse. We hold firmly that all of our community members including LGBTQIA deserve the full support and resources available. Though there may be changes in the rules surrounding adjudication and investigation of cases, these rules will not impede our commitment and ability to provide resources to community members in need of help. Further, we will continue to support both respondents and complainants should a disciplinary process be the resolution path for a particular case. We will redouble our efforts to prevent sexual assault and sexual violence.
