Policies
The S&B is published on Mondays by the newspaper staff and is printed by The Daily Freeman-Journal. The newspaper is funded by the Student Publications and Radio Committee (SPARC). All publications funded by SPARC are copyright of SPARC and cannot be reproduced elsewhere without specific written consent from SPARC.
The S&B welcomes story ideas from students, faculty and other members of the town and College community. To submit a tip, please e-mail newspapr@grinnell.edu.
Send letters to the editor via e-mail to newspapr@grinnell.edu. The author’s name must be included, but letters can be published anonymously in certain occasions. Letters become the property of the S&B and will be printed at the discretion of the editor. The S&B reserves the right to edit any and all submissions. The deadline for publication in Monday’s paper is the previous Wednesday at noon. Please do not include footnotes in the letters to the editor. The opinions expressed in letters to the editor, opinion columns and advertising do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the S&B, SPARC or Grinnell College.
Comments for the website will be approved at the discretion of the editorial staff. While anonymous comments may be permitted in certain situations, spam comments and bullying are not tolerated. Err on the side of caution by using your real name and e-mail address.
Staff
The paper is composed of student staff who work independently of Grinnell College. The staff receives funding from the Student Publications and Radio Committee (SPARC) and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Students publish the paper every Monday during the academic year. Read more about the staff here.
