Following Governor Kim Reynolds’ (R) signing of House File 538 (HF538), which stripped away gender identity from the state’s civil rights protections, over 100 people rallied in Grinnell’s Central Park to protest the bill. The S&B’s Editor-in-Chief Charlotte Krone `25 interviewed community members on and off campus to ask them about cultivating networks of support in Grinnell during this trying time.
Charlotte Krone is a fourth-year Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies major and unofficial Spanish double major from Los Angeles, CA. In Grinnell, she can be found working towards a Pub Quiz championship, singing a cappella with Con Brio and serving up ice cream cones at Dari Barn.
Rihaan is a third year at Grinnell, majoring in economics with a concentration in statistics. He is very passionate about photography and cinematography, and loves to play and watch basketball.
