Pretrial conference continued for man accused of assaulting Grinnell College student

An offer to settle the case of the Durant, Iowa man accused of assaulting a first-year Grinnell College student is currently being evaluated by Poweshiek county attorney Bart Klaver.

Noah Grage, the Durant, Iowa man accused of assaulting a first-year Grinnell College student had his pre-trial conference rescheduled after a March 6 appearance at the Poweshiek County Courthouse in Montezuma, Iowa. Currently, Poweshiek county attorney Bart Klaver is evaluating an offer to settle the case, Dennis McKelvie, Grage’s defense attorney, told The S&B. 

Grage’s pretrial conference will now be held on April 17 at 9:30 a.m. 

Grage is facing a Class D felony assault charge after allegedly punching a Grinnell College student on campus. If the case proceeded to trial and Grage were to be found guilty, he could face up to five years in prison and $10,245 in fines. 

Grage has been free on a $1,000 bond since Nov. 9.
