Edith Renfrow Smith `37, the first Black woman to graduate from Grinnell College, and, at 110, the oldest living alum, was celebrated over a two-day span of events that included a parade, Renfrow Hall’s dedication, a community concert, the historic Hazelwood Cemetery walk and a guided walk featuring Renfrow Smith’s childhood home.
