Grinnell men’s soccer got its first win of the season behind a diving header and stout defensive showing, beating Eureka College 1-0 at Springer Field on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024. The goal by Dylan Maddux `25 came in the 57th minute on a left-footed cross into the box from Billy Cherres `26. Maddux’s header found the left side of the net, giving him his 13th goal of his career and first of the season. The defense gave up just three shots on goal, with Jayson Kunkel `26 posting three saves and his second shutout of the year. Grinnell is back at Springer Field on Tuesday, Sept. 10 for a match against Central College.
